RJD portfolio company, Survey Solutions, makes two acquisitions

RJD Partners Limited’s (“RJD”) portfolio company Survey Solutions, the UK’s largest engineering and topographical surveyors, has acquired two established businesses, Survey Systems in Manchester and Kempston Surveys in Bedfordshire.

RJD Partners Limited’s (“RJD”) portfolio company Survey Solutions, the UK’s largest engineering and topographical surveyors, has acquired two established businesses, Survey Systems in Manchester and Kempston Surveys in Bedfordshire to augment its geographic coverage and service offering. RJD invested in the management buyout of Survey Solutions in June 2019, backing a strategy for the business to strengthen its position as the national geospatial surveyor of choice, through organic and acquisition-led growth.

Survey Systems is a leading independent surveying company in the North West of England – an area with high demand and forecast growth, which made it a natural acquisition target for Survey Solutions when looking to grow its presence in this region. Over 40 Survey Systems employees have joined the Survey Solutions group.

Kempston Surveys has established an excellent reputation within the Bedfordshire area for quality and client care during its 14-year history. The acquisition is already resulting in an expansion of the team, now comprising eight people.

Headquartered in Ipswich, Survey Solutions now has nine offices nationwide, from Scotland to Somerset, giving the company an unrivalled presence throughout the UK and enabling local teams to respond quickly to project enquiries – a key differentiator in a time sensitive market. The acquisitions also increase the headcount to around 160 people.

Under RJD’s ownership, Survey Solutions has continued to harness the latest industry technology and invest in the range of complementary services it offers, such as introducing surveys using drone technology.
